Tonsils and Dryers

Today Jackson had his tonsils out. One of my wonderful neighbors and good friend watched the other kids early this morning until my Mother-in-law could pick them up. It was so nice having that all taken care of. Linda also stayed at our house while the demolition crew picked up their dryer (thank heavens) and took apart the bathroom. They took out the floor, vanity, and toilet. They are going to continue to dry the floor with a smaller dryer tonight. At least it isn't heating up the whole house. Yesterday, our AC quit. Completely. Not even my husband's supernatural handiwork could fix it. It's been a good week. :/
Anyways....Back to Jackson. His surgery went well. The ENT came in and said that his tonsils were exceptionally  huge for such a little guy. I guess that's saying something. He also asked if Jackson had had strep throat recently because one of his tonsils looked irritated. He hasn't had it for a while, but I guess something was causing him more trouble. Poor kid. Before he went in he was given a pillowcase, blanket, baggie full of car toys, and a hospital doll. I love Utah and their service projects. Thanks to the ladies that attended this year's Women's Conference. Jackson benefited greatly. :)

He had a hard time with waking up afterwards. He just wanted to sleep and the nurse kept trying to get him to drink something. We were in the post-op room for 3 hours just waiting for him to drink enough. He was drinking, just not enough. :/ I knew he was just tired and cranky and that he would do better at home, but who believes that you know your child best? It was fine, but his tummy hurt and he threw up right before we left.

Since we got home he has had 4 cups of various fluids, 2 puddings, and a jello cup. Lots of sugar, but they said as long as he is eating and drinking they don't care what it is. They suggested PediaSure so I am going to get some of those. He ate a fish cracker without asking and it didn't seem to bother him. I reminded him that he isn't supposed to have crackers. Silly kid. He has been resting, playing the xbox, and playing legos. I hope that he will heal quickly and we can get him sleeping and feeling much better.

Thank you to everyone that has helped us this week. It has been such a blessing.
