I have been telling the kids since they were tiny that they could try whatever sport or instrument they wanted. The boys have been begging all summer to do gymnastics. I told them that when school started we would try it out. They are both in for this month. They are in separate classes because of their age difference. Zeke is in an all boys class. His first class he was the only one there and got the coach all to himself. It was so cute. He tried out all of the different things they had set up. He finished with trying to do cartwheels and jumping from a trampoline onto a mat. We are going to do push-ups together every day so he can build up his upper body strength.
The picture quality is terrible, but I had to take some anyways. It was dark and I was high up, but better than nothing.

This is my favorite! How cute are they? So still and following directions.
I am not aiming for my children to be gymnasts, but I didn't do these things when I was little. I have terrible balance and thought I was incapable of doing anything physically challenging until I hit my 20s. Not kidding. I want them to build their confidence and know that it's ok to try things out and have fun, while working on their balance and coordination as a bonus.
It totally makes a difference in their balance and coordination, and core strength. Bella is so strong and we attribute that to gymnastics. It provides a base for other sports as well. Fun times!
