What a busy weekend. It was the Lehi Round-Up. There is a rodeo and other family festivities all week long. On Friday night Mike, the older boys, and I all went to the Rodeo. It was fun and the kids loved it. Especially when a guy got his finger caught in his rope and dislocated it with a pop! Gross. We had great seats and the halftime show was motor cross. A little boys dream come true.
That next morning Mike and I ran our very first 10K! My niece Katie stayed the night and watched the kiddos so we didn't have to haul them anywhere at 6 am. We did so much better than I expected. We finished in an hour and 30 minutes. Not any kind of great time, but an accomplishment. It's funny how great you feel as soon as it's over. We are both really sore too.
Yesterday was Pepsi day. Mike's maternal grandmother's birthday is lovingly referred to as Pepsi Day because she loved Pepsi and tried to hide that fact from other people. After she passed away they found it stuffed in all sorts of weird places. Every year we go to the Lehi Cemetery and drink a Pepsi and everyone that knew her shares their memories of her. Unfortunately she passed away before I joined the family, but my mother-in-law and sis-in-law sound like they are a lot like her. ;)
Now it's Monday and our routine starts over. Hopefully we can fit in some fun things for the kids this week. Mike starts his second block of summer classes tonight. He is doing so great with school. We are very proud of him.
