Easter Dinner

For Easter dinner, one of my dear friends put together a list of foods that were connected with Jesus Christ. She put together the scripture stories and she and I served those foods for our Easter dinners.
 Lamb: The Lamb of God.
Bread and Fish: The miracle of the loaves and the fishes. Jesus is the bread of life. We also talked about the Sacrament.
Vinegar and Oil: The parable of the 10 virgins. Jesus was offered vinegar to deaden his pain, he tasted, but did not drink.
Grape Juice: Jesus turned water into wine. We also discussed the Sacrament.
Milk and Honey: Ok, we substituted icecream for milk, but we did get some real honeycomb for us all to try.
The kids loved it! They were very entertained and tried everything. I think this will be a good tradition for us on Easter Sunday since we do extended family things the Saturday before.

Almost every Sunday we go to Mike's parent's house to visit. We were just there the day before, but we like to torture them. ;) Grandpa played "slap jack" with the boys. It was more dangerous than you might think.

  1. That is a neat tradition. Zeke is being very brave to play slap jack with Grandpa!
