Just for the Record

I don't think I've ever written down that I have cataracts. I decided that I should probably record it so my kids can have an explanation. I got them when I was 19 and the doctors can't tell me why. I have to wear glasses for the rest of my life because the contour of my eye changes too often for contacts. They have slowed down their growth quite a bit, which is nice. I guess I have had this particular type of cataract for quite a long stretch. When I get them removed I will have to wear bifocals until they grow back. After they grow back there is nothing they can do for now. The operation is only a one time thing. Hopefully medicine will have advanced enough to spare me my eye sight. It's a very strange thing. The only complaint I really have is that I don't like wearing glasses. They are kind of a pain, but I am glad they are still working to my benefit. I am hoping that it is just a fluke in nature and my kids won't have to worry about it until they are in their 80's, like normal people.
