Oregon: Day 1 & 2

We left Wednesday afternoon for Sutherlin Oregon. My friends and family live there. It is where
I grew up. Mike and I took turns driving and drove all night. We pulled into town at about 7 a.m. Just in time for the kids to wake up. We got to stay in the nicest hotel in town. It was quite nice...

After everyone showered we were off. The kids had a great time while Nana Sue spoiled them. That night we went to my sisters for dinner so the kids could play and we could visit. Mike and I were dead on our feet and headed back to the hotel quite early for bed.
Friday we went to Wildlife Safari. For those of you who don't know, it is a drive through, free-range zoo. It also has a little village after you take the loop around and see the animals. I have never been on a better day. All the animals were out and playing. I have never even seen the hippo before and he was out of the water and taking a walk.

I love this picture of her face. She was ooohhhing the whole time. (the park is 10 mph and doesn't require seat belts. Just in case you thought I had lost my mind :)

We got to see the bears eating cow legs. The kids loved it.

We met a very bored Elk,

A quite angry ostrich,

A shedding camel,

A white deer,

And the friendliest llama you've ever seen!

My nephew even milked a fake cow.

In the village there was even a squirrel chase. The squirrel won.

We had so much fun. That night we had dinner with a bunch of our close friends and family. Good day! I spent some time with my girlfriends while the kids fell asleep watching the Princess and the Frog.

  2. You are on the ball! I can't believe you already have pictures up! I am so glad you guys had a great time. The pictures are great. Even though I still secretly wish you came here instead. :)

  3. I have very few memories of Oregon, but I remember the Wildlife park. The best way to do a zoo. Kids see animals, parents sit in comfort instead of walking all day.
