We had such an amazing Christmas! It was so awesome being able to go to Church and have a wonderful meeting on Christmas day. The kids insisted that we get up at 6:30 so we could get the presents opened before actually going to Sacrament meeting. They don't get up much later than that anyways, but they were especially excitable this year. Zeke got up at 3:30, and then every hour after that to ask if it was time to get up yet. I told him that he could get up when my alarm went off. As soon as it did, Zeke came charging into my room to turn it off and make sure everyone got out of bed.
Mike- just finished his first full year of college. He got A's and B's in all of his classes. So proud of him. He is also working full-time, but seems to manage all of that really well. He loves playing with the kids when he gets home and playing XBOX Live with his brothers in his spare time (if he can find any). I really couldn't have asked for a better partner in this life or the next.
Nicole- I have finally figured out how to do things with 4 kids. lol. It doesn't seem like I just had Nicholas this year, but time has flown by too. They all keep me busy and on my toes. I have really gotten deeper into photography and would love to really make a business out of it. It has been so much fun! That's what I should be doing in my spare time right? Something that I think is fun? I think so too. I finally reached my weight loss goal! These babies sure have me going up and down a lot. Just in time too because Mike and I are heading for warmer weather soon. ;) I love being home with my kids to help them and to teach them and to see them grow. It has been much more amazing than I could have imagined.
Zeke- Zeke was Baptized this year and is loving Boy Scouts. He has amazing leaders and has already earned some belt loops. He does really well in school and has become quite the good little reader. His 2nd grade teacher is really nice and doesn't send home more homework than we can handle. Zeke is hoping this year to get into Karate. He did a trial class a while back and wants to do more of that. It should be fun. I can't believe how grown up he is getting. :'( It's a good thing though. Just makes me a little teary.
Jackson- This kid has more energy than anyone I now. Possibly more than all of us put together. We have been getting along better. Probably because I have learned what battles to pick with him and I know what tantrums are just going to escalate instead of getting better. He LOVES kindergarten. He is so good for his teacher. He really has a lot of fun every day, no matter what.
Elsie- My kids hit the Sassy at 3 years old. She is no exception. It's easier to talk her out of tantrums than the boys were, but still has the attitude sometimes. Most of the time she is sweet, kind, helpful, and so good with the baby. She says the cutest things too. Like, "Mom, I just love Daddy." So stinkin' cute. Makes your heart melt a little. Ok, a lot. It's fun to have a girly girl. She loves all things Princess and got plenty of that for Christmas. She loves all of it. Dress ups, dolls, pretty hair. It's so cute! She is a fast learner and has inherited my love of books. She has been doing a joy school with a few neighbor girls and loves the interaction. I think her favorite thing is playing with the girls rather than learning, but she is still 3 years away from Kindergarten so that's ok.
Nicholas- He will be 10 months old next week. They grow too quickly. He is so sweet and fun. He has a great disposition and sleeps through the night. I just love babies. All stages are fun for different reasons, but he seems to just get cuter and cuter. He looks more like me than the middle two, but he makes his Daddy's faces. When he gives hugs he pats you on the back. So sweet. I was laying on the floor the other night and he came over to give me big, fat, slobbery kisses. I love it!
Reenacting the birth of our Savior at Grandma Stoker's house.
Our little family is turning into a big one. We have been in our house for 6 years this February and love that we have a home that is our own. There are things I would change, but I am just grateful that we have it. Our neighborhood is, I'm convinced, one of the best in the world. Even though some people have moved, and some more will follow, great people always move in. Then I just have friends that live farther away. I can deal with that right? We love our Church callings and our kids' teachers. Such a fun, wonderful time for us. I can't imagine my life without all these amazing people and children in it. We truly have been blessed.
