Our Nation's Birthday!

This is the second year that we have had the 4th celebrations at our house. It was nice and overcast so we didn't all burn to cinders in our backyard while we ate. It was fun having everyone over for a barbecue and having fireworks afterwards. A lot of the neighbors stopped by and added their fireworks to the pile. It started raining so I put my camera away for the big show, but since Arials are now legal, we had quite the assortment of explosives. I am happy to report that everyone enjoyed themselves and nobody lost any digits.

This one, however, broke his collar bone yesterday while riding his skateboard. He is in that sling for at least 6 weeks if he doesn't have to have surgery. Lesson....No more riding skateboards on Sunday. : /
Poor kid is in a lot of pain and now has countless hours of movie watching ahead of him.

I hope everyone enjoyed our great nation's birthday. I am so grateful to live in such a wonderful country.
