I have been insulin resistant for the last decade or so. It has accompanied some other problems with my system. Whenever I am pregnant they make me do the glucose test and it always comes back that I am, indeed, insulin resistant. I usually have to do the 1 hour and the 3 hour tests just to make sure it hasn't turned into gestational diabetes. I have done a lot of research and discovered that this is most likely the reason that I have never produced milk. (Sorry, kind of personal). Nurses give you a 5% chance of being able to do that if you have my particular set of problems. Today I took my usual 1 hour glucose test and.....It came back completely normal. I am no longer insulin resistant. I have noticed that I don't have hypoglycemic reactions anymore and that my weight actually fluctuates with what I eat and not just whenever it feels like it. I might actually be able to feed this baby without spending an arm and a leg to do it. It's always been a guilty thing for me, not being able to do it. I am only going to give it a 5 day try, but I am more optomistic with this one than with the others. I am also not going to cry if it doesn't happen either. ;) We will see about that.
